As an electrical engineer by education, I worked in startups between 5 and 1.5M employees and traditional enterprises between 450 thousand and 45 employees, from German Mittelstand to Corporate America, predominantly in fast moving hi-tech industries, outward looking functions, and leadership roles. I have led large sales organizations for US multinationals, conducted post-merger integrations and advised small, medium and large enterprises in digitally transforming their businesses. If I have to name only ONE thing which almost always decides over success or failure, it would be the quality of human interaction. Whether a project will be delivered in time and budget, a new CEO will be onboarded smoothly, a big tender will be won, a factory will be built in time. If we interact effectively, things will get done efficiently. We are all very well equipped with technical skills, tools and competencies, what we lack are the human equivalents. Building these capacities in organizations, teams and individuals while leading and influencing how they think, speak and act – this is what brought me to Radius 1.
